Metto il cuoricino giallo perché, da quando è arrivato ufficialmente l'autunno, c'è sempre il sole -_- Ma ma ma, bando alle ciance e veniamo al mio pensiero sulla seconda parte della miniserie 'Til Death di Bella Jewel :D Mi è piaciuto meno del suo predecessore, perché purtroppo sapevo bene come sarebbe finita la storia (nella trama è specificato che il romanzo contiene un HEA), ma mi sono goduta lo stesso tutto l'angst presente nel corpo centrale del libro ^_^

Bella Jewel è un'autrice bravissima, bisogna ammetterlo ad alta voce :D con questa storia mi ha regalato un'emozione dopo l'altra – gioia e dolore, passione e tormento. In questo libro c'è tutto, e niente vi lascerà indifferenti.
Sono passati meno di due anni da quella terribile scena nella cucina, dove due anime sono andate in frantumi. Dove Marcus ha allontanato per sempre la sua Katia.
Sua moglie.
L'amore della sua vita.
Non mi ha mai inseguita.Ma Marcus le ha fatto il dono più grande. Penny. Una bambina bellissima che assomiglia al suo papà in modo incredibile.
Non mi ha mai chiamato.
Non ha mai chiesto il divorzio.

In questo secondo volume sono stata letteralmente sopraffatta dagli eventi. Il rancore di Katia mi ha soffocato. La sua disperazione è tangibile e la porta a compiere azioni riprovevoli che non fanno altro che trascinarla sempre più giù. Straordinarie e cariche di pathos sono state le scene con Marcus. I loro scontri fisici e verbali mi hanno lasciato senza fiato.
«Fottuta puttana» ansima.Qui abbiamo un Marcus totalmente diverso da quello conosciuto nel primo libro. È un uomo miserabile. Un uomo che ha capito di amare, ma che non è in grado di dimostrarlo. Un uomo che darebbe e farebbe di tutto, pur di essere il padre perfetto. Pur di rimediare ai suoi errori.
Indietreggio. «Mi dispiace».
I suoi occhi saettano su di me e un muscolo sulla sua mascella pulsa. «Volevi farmela pagare?» gracchia. «Volevi che mi bruciasse? Be', congratulazioni, hai avuto ciò che volevi. Mi hai strappato il cuore dal petto, lo hai calpestato e lo hai rimesso dentro. Sei contenta adesso? Ti fa sentire bene, sapere di avermi distrutto?»
Ma non può.
La sollevo con dita tremanti e la apro. Quello che vedo annienta tutte le mie speranze. Mi metto una mano sul cuore, cercando di respirare. È un altro fascicolo di carte del divorzio, e c'è una piccola, orribile nota allegata. Una nota che mi fa a pezzi. Una nota che rovina tutte le mie speranze. Ha sei parole, sei semplici parole.Ma io vi dico . . .
Mi dispiace. È meglio così. M.
